At The Virtual Foundry, we strive to keep our innovative metal, glass, and ceramic filaments ready for your next project. However, due to high demand or powder availability, some items may occasionally be placed on backorder.
Below is our policy regarding backordered items:
Placing a Backorder
You are welcome to purchase items currently listed as "Backordered." Placing an order for these items secures your place in our production queue.

Payment: Payment is collected at the time the order is placed to reserve your inventory.

Shipping Timeline: Your order will ship as soon as the backordered product is manufactured and passes our quality control standards.
Consolidated Shipping
To minimize environmental impact and shipping costs, we do not split-ship orders by default. * If your order contains both "In-Stock" and "Backordered" items, the entire shipment will be held until all items are ready.

The estimated shipping date will be determined by the item with the longest lead time.
Partial Shipments (Advanced Shipping)
We understand that sometimes you need your in-stock tools or materials right away.

Upon Request: You may request that in-stock items be shipped ahead of backordered filaments.

Additional Fees: Because this requires multiple shipments, extra shipping charges will apply.
